In most cases, we require our students to complete a proctored, full-length practice test after every four hours of tutoring. A baseline score to track the student's progress is also necessary and this is accomplished by an initial mock test if the student hasn't any official scores to report.

The SAT is nearly four hours long and the ACT is three hours, not including registration, instructions, and breaks. Practice tests help students work up the mental endurance they'll need to focus for such a long period of time. Unlike test sections assigned for homework, full-length mock tests also help identify a student's problems with timing or test anxiety, enabling us to work more effectively with the student to help manage these issues.

Extended timing is provided for students who qualify for accommodations on the official SAT/ACT. The mock SAT always includes the essay and on the mock ACT, the essay is optional and at the end of either the regular timed or extended timed test.

Enrolled clients receive the initial assessment mock for baseline scores and at least one mock test to support each four hours of tutoring. However, anyone who is interested may sign up for one of our mock tests with no obligation to tutoring or purchase an additional mock for $40. Within a few days after a mock test, students, their parents, and their tutors (if applicable) may view the results and a comprehensive test analysis at their secure online account.

Advance reservations must be made for mock tests. This ensures that we will have enough space and proctors to accommodate those who sign up for each testing date and location.
