My son's tutor is amazing. I sat in the session a couple of weeks ago, and this Georgia Tech grad student is very, very bright and is one of Appelrouth's best tutors. Given that he is nearer my son's age, they have a great time together and are even somewhat becoming friends.
This service is expensive, but is one of the most value-oriented services I have ever seen in any industry. This is so "on purpose" and customized to the individual student, I could not imagine how it could be MORE effective. I taught people how to pass the CPA exam when I was a CPA back in the 1980's, so I know a bit about this sort of tutoring challenge. This is so far off the charts as to effectiveness, it is hard to compare to what I did years ago. They need to expand this business, as it is a GOLD MINE.

Jed & Lee, looks like more excellent results from Appelrouth Tutoring!! Here are D's SAT scores. Critical Reading - 580. Math - 620. Writing - 540. Writing Multiple Choice - 53. Essay - 8. We are thrilled with these scores. Please let us know how we should proceed from here. According to D the Critical Reading score and the Math are the ones to count, in that case he had a 1200 and that sounds pretty good to us! I hope this is correct. While this has been a very stressful time for us in regards to taking the test multiple times to get the scores up, I found that the schedules were flexible and the support very satisfactory. We did have some trouble in the spring with our initial group sessions and working the schedule around the holiday and a miscommunication about a makeup class, but the tutor was willing to do whatever it took to get the hours in, including coming to our house. He has also worked individually with our son this fall to get his verbal scores up.

First off, I am extremely sorry for making you read this incredibly long message. I know that my mom emailed you today with my scores (750 W, 720 M, 770 CR, 2240 composite). When we checked the scores, I screamed for five minutes and my mom cried (we're a very dramatic family when it comes to test scores). I am extremely happy with my test results.

Hi, I wanted to contact you for two reasons. First of all, S. was accepted as of Dec 9th by UGA. We were in the process of applying for the honors program when we received a letter telling us they enrolled him in the Honors program already due to his outstanding achievement in High School and on the SAT's. We were delighted.

I wanted to give you an update on G. As you know, G. applied to Princeton early decision. Last week, he received notice from Princeton that he had been accepted for the class of 2011. Needless to say, we are all very excited about G. entering Princeton in the fall. While swimming paid an important part in his application process, I believe his test score improvement with the help of you, Alex and Michael played a critical part in his success. We really appreciate all of your help in the Princeton process. We look forward to starting all over with our 10th grader, C., soon.
